Need a solid AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) for your Galaxy Note 4 with Android 5.1.1 and root out of the box?
My current favorites include the Resurrection Remix ROM and the CrDroid ROM. Over my month long vacation, I got to test out the CrDroid ROM in Thailand and worked beautifully well for a great/fast AOSP experience. Of course, this is an AOSP ROM so if you use a lot of Samsung specific gadgets (like Gear S watch, S-View Cover), it’s probably not for you as you will lose those features. But if you absolutely need to be on the latest Android 5.1.1 with pure Google, CrDroid is a great choice.
Built on latest CM12.1 sources, CrDroid ROM brings you all the functionalities of CyanogenMod plus much more through its extra settings. You will be able to fully customize your status bar, notification drawer, recents panel, display, themes, and much much more. The amount of customization you have over stock CyanogenMod is main reason why you would want to run this custom ROM.
Overall, it’s a very solid and stable Android 5.1.1 experience using the CrDroid ROM on the Note 4 so definitely give it a try this week(end) if AOSP is your cup of tea. This ROM can be installed on any Note 4 with Qualcomm-based CPU such as T-Mobile, Canadian, SM-G910F, etc…etc…
