If you have an international Note 4 with model number SM-N910F, you probably have been playing around with Lollipop for awhile now. Well, if you want to further enhance your Lollipop TouchWiz experience with 12 more custom themes and lots of customization, you may want to consider installing the Alliance Lollipop ROM by XDA users Lacoursiere18, Txr33, Goldie, and Sawdoctor.
One of the first Note 4’s to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware is the Note 4 with SM-N910F model number. Well, I was able to score one of these models on eBay (finally after buying a fake Note 4) and the first thing I did was install the German Android 5.0 Lollipop stock firmware and root it (rooting Lollipop is same as KitKat).
For this week’s ROM of the week, check out the BeanStalk ROM ported by XDA user Mod57!
Based on latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, BeanStalk is an AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) that can be installed on T-Mobile, Canadian Note 4, SM-N910F, and probably any other international Note 4 with Qualcomm CPU. If you are looking for a top-notch AOSP Lollipop ROM that’s going to turn your Note 4 into a super Nexus device, BeanStalk ROM can do that as it also comes with a ton of customization.
My favorite custom ROM for my Note 3 is finally now available also for Galaxy Note 4, available for the international SM-N910F and the Sprint SM-N910P. This is a really nice custom ROM that I can vouch for the developer as I have been using it as my main daily driver since couple years ago with my Galaxy S4.
For those of with a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910T or Canadian SM-N910W8 who want to get a great, stable daily driver that’s faster/better than stock, definitely check out the Infamous ROM by XDA user Jamison904.
As many people know, stock TouchWiz firmware has been plagued by laggy performance but with custom ROM like Infamous ROM, it can really supercharge your Note 4 to the fullest while adding new cool features like unlocked wifi hotspot, native call recording, custom Power menu, quad multi-window, and much much more.
For those of you looking to enhance your Galaxy Note 4 by installing a pure Google custom ROM, look nowhere else than CM12 ROM by XDA user Slayher.
The CM12 ROM brings you the best and latest Android Lollipop 5.0.2 to your Note 4. Of course, this is still in beta stages but I’ve used it as daily driver fine with no problems other than no NFC and 4K video recording.
For those of you who need stock firmwares for your U.S., Canadian, or Korean Note 4, we’ve added firmwares for the following devices on our Note 4 Stock Firmware page.AT&T Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910A T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910T Sprint Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910P Verizon Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910V Canadian Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910W8 (For Bell, Telus, Rogers, and Wind) Korean Galaxy Note 4 (SK Telecom SM-N910K, LG U SM-N910U, KT SM-N910K)
For those of you who want to root your Galaxy Note 4 and also install CWM or TWRP recovery at the same time (so you can backup, restore, and install ROMs), you can use the CWM/TWRP root method for rooting.
This root method works on all KitKat and Lollipop including Android 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2.
For those of you who have been waiting for custom ROMs on the Note 4, it’s still too early to expect custom ROMs but finally a custom recovery is available for the T-Mobile SM-N910T and Sprint SM-N910P variants.
If you have a rooted Note 4, this is easily installed by using the Flashify app, just grab the latest TWRP recovery for Note 4 then install using our guide on Flashify. These recoveries should be also compatible with all Qualcomm variants but our advice is just to wait couple days longer until official TWRP is available.
