After struggling to root my recently bought Verizon Note 4, I’ve finally been able to root and unlock the bootloader after about 10 tries. It is pretty easy to do once you know how to do it but it took me about a week to get this working correctly, mostly due to the fact that temp root was hard to do with KingRoot and KingORoot.

For those of you who have been waiting for S7 Edge port on Note 4, definitely check out the latest version of Dr. Ketan ROM.
Originally developed for SM-N910G, Dr. Ketan’s ROM can easily be installed onto SM-N910F Note 4. You should also be able to install on T-Mobile or Canadian Note 4 with custom kernel and data fix (see the download link).
For those of you who want the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with root (based on official Samsung firmware not AOSP) on your T-Mobile SM-N910T, Canadian SM-N910W8, or international SM-N910F, you can do it by installing Dr. Ketan’s ROM.
Based on SM-N910G (which is the only model available with official Marshmallow on Note 4 models), Dr. Ketan’s ROM brings you the latest official Android 6.0.1 stock firmware to your Note 4 plus root and much more.
For those of you who want to root your Galaxy Note 4 or Note Edge on Android 5.1.1, you will need to flash a custom kernel on top of regular root method, otherwise you may end up in a bootloop. This is because Samsung has updated Android 5.1.1 with root block and the only way to get around it is to install custom kernel before installing SuperSU.
For those of you who need to unroot your Galaxy Note 4, perhaps because you need to return your phone for warranty, need to get out of a nasty bootloop, or simply tired of using custom ROMs and want to run stock, you can do so easily by re-installing the stock firmware.
Now, unrooting with stock firmware does not erase anything if you are coming from stock ROM or firmware, it will simply update you to the latest stock firmware you flash. However, if coming from custom ROM, you may need to do a factory reset. Doing a factory reset in stock recovery (after unrooting) WILL ERASE EVERYTHING on your phone. You may have to do that so if you are coming from custom ROM, BACKUP EVERYTHING on your phone before following the guide.
For those of you who want to root your Galaxy Note 4 and also install CWM or TWRP recovery at the same time (so you can backup, restore, and install ROMs), you can use the CWM/TWRP root method for rooting.
This root method works on all KitKat and Lollipop including Android 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2.
